Veniamin Kondratyev: over 5 million decaliters of wine produced in Kuban in Q1 2025

The governor of Krasnodar Region shared the latest production figures with the press.

«Winemaking has become a vital part of our region’s identity. Krasnodar Region is the leader in Russia for wine and champagne production, having increased output 2.5 times over the last decade. In 2024, the region produced 23.5 million decaliters of still and sparkling wines, and more than 5 million decaliters have already been made in the first quarter of this year alone. This accounts for nearly half of the country’s total wine production. Currently, Kuban hosts 96 wineries, 9 territories with protected designation of origin, and 21 terroirs. These factors also help boost agritourism, with 30 wineries welcoming visitors year-round,» said Veniamin Kondratyev.

Wine production in Krasnodar Region grew by 6.5% in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period last year, including 2.7 million decaliters of sparkling wine and 3.4 million decaliters of still wine. The leading producers by volume are Kuban-Vino, Abrau-Durso, Fanagoria, Olimp, and Soyuz-Vino. The region’s vineyards cover 32,500 hectares, supplying the grapes for local wine production.
