Veniamin Kondratyev took part in the meeting chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister Vitaliy Mutko on creating the Strategy for Spatial Development of Russia for the period up to 2025.
According to Vitaliy Mutko, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation is completing the development of the relevant document.
The document will outline the priorities for the development of regional economies, identify their competitive advantages and create the necessary facilities for removing infrastructure restrictions.
The draft project of the Strategy provides for the construction of 44 main infrastructure facilities in the region. In particular, it is about the construction of two high-speed railroads, 12 highways including the South-West and Far West bypasses of Krasnodar, as well as the road that will connect the resort territories of the region from Kerch to the border with the Republic of Abkhazia. It is also planned to create border crossings in Novorossiysk and Tuapse, 14 power supply facilities and a gas distribution station.
Veniamin Kondratyev noted the importance of implementing these projects for the further development of the region’s economy, and suggested that a number of other projects should be added to the Strategy, in particular, the road for a full-fledged alternative access to Sochi (Chernigovskoye – Dagomys).
In addition, the Governor proposed to include the Krasnodar Region in the list of geostrategic territories of the Russian Federation, since the region borders with the Republic of Abkhazia. This measure will, among other things, promote the development of economic sectors taking into account international markets and the existing specialization of the border territories.
