Kuban and Crimean wines included in the Simple Wine News annual ranking

Simple Wine News has published its third annual ranking of «The Best Russian Wines, according to SWN», showcasing wines from the Krasnodar Region and Crimea once again. According to the media outlet's website, this year the primary focus remains on conducting a comprehensive evaluation of wineries and assessing brand strength.

Among the top 40 wines designated with «red stars» (92–94 points) were wines from southern Russia. This year's highest scores show an increase compared to last year. Four wines received the maximum score of 94 points.

«Our most significant success is the increase in the number of small businesses, which are those producing up to 150,000 bottles. Such domestic farms have seen a significant leap in quality over the past year. They have probably applied new technologies that align with their needs and have gained experience,» said Anatoly Korneev, Vice President of Simple Group.

A total of 757 wines from 93 wineries were evaluated in three tasting sessions. The breakdown was as follows: 49% red wines, 43% white wines, and 8% rosé wines.

The full list of winners is available on the publication's website.
