Kuban plans to increase the wine export by 1.5 times in the coming five years

Krasnodar region plans to increase the wine export by 1.5 times in the coming five years, told Governor of the region Veniamin Kondratyev at the XXV Session of the Legislative Assembly of Krasnodar region.

As a reminder, in the year 2018 the export of winery products grew up to more than 305 thousand decalitres.

In parallel, the region needs to, at least, twice as to expand the area of vineyards in perspective. In Kuban not more than 60% of the released wine is produced from the local raw materials, noted the Chief of the region.

As RBC Krasnodar reported earlier, wine production in Krasnodar region in 2018 grew by 9.5, that of champagne wines – by 11.7% and that of fruit wines – by 6 times.   

According to the information of the Ministry of Agriculture, wine production in 2018 accounted for 14.6 million dal (decalitres) (in 2017 – 13.6 million dal), sparkling wines – more than 3.9 million dal (a year earlier – 3.6 million dal).

The share of the region within the All-Russian volume of the collected grapes approaches 45%. Last year its gross yield in the region exceeded 209 thousand tons, the average grape yield was 100 сentner/hectare.
